This is the remaining (now unblocked) drain on the left of the kitchen (as you come out of the door) that now takes all the waste water from the kitchen - the first test is currently the new dishwasher. Once the new conservatory is finished we may modify this location and put it around the side.
This is a later photo of the old drain I took up - and which allowed me to get to the center drain to free the clogged up stuff.
We took up the whole of the drain along this side - as we no longer need it anyway. It was there because the old washer was on the right side of the kitchen. Now all the water-based applicances are on the left.
John came round and we fixed the drains. It involved pulling half up, and me sticking my arm down the main drain (centre f of the last pic) and pulling out lots of sand, plaster and stone. Just outside the door here. The soil is back over it now.
So I dug out the new drain that John Pattinson and I put in at the end of last year and he said he will come round tonight to see how to best fix the problem. There is always something!
Unfortunately, I cannot now test the washer and dishwasher as the drains are blocked - I assume with 'stuff' that got down there during the external building work. I was able to get some stuff up (wore a rubber glove) but Vinny tried with rods and nothing moved. What a bummer.
This is the elegant tap and the small round sink that now works!
Vinny, from BBH plumbers, came this morning and connected the washer, dishwasher and sink. The sawdust from the holes he drilled in on the left. The dish is catching water from a leak that he is coming back to fix later.
And this is a final photo of work so far, again showing the wonderful breakfast bar. I still have to decide on a fridge-freezer that will fit in the space under the stairs - hence the end of the worktop (far right) has not been completed yet, as that will meet the side of the fridge-freezer.

Lee finished the kitchen units today, plus making this fantastic semi-circular breakfast bar. The plumbing will be finished tomorrow - so the elegant tap is propped up by cardboard in this photo. The electrical outlet at the far end also need completing.
And this is the overall view at the end of Monday. After this Lee and I went to B&Q to figure out what else was needed and what will need to be exchanged or returned. Lee will fit everything in the morning so the fittings should be complete tomorrow. You can see that Lee has also installed the round sink bowl on the left. Completion - other than tiling and decorating - depends on when the plumbers come to connect the water and drainage.
This is the other side of the kitchen. Lee and Spud also fitted the handles wherever they could, too.
Today Lee fitted the worktops and some of the doors on the cabinets and on the washer and the dishwasher.
On Saturday morning Steve connected the Cooker and Microwave as well as putting covers on most of the sockets. After he had finished that we went to the Forest and watched Liverpool beat Everton. Good morning's work :)

This needed a flash.. but you can see the progress made today.. it was slow work today as the electrical sockets and water pipes had to be moved ... and we are still missing some parts ....so the work top is only resting on the top to show the colour and give me somewhere to put 'things' :)
And this is the right hand side. The microwave and cooker are OK in the far corner - I was worried they weren't initially. I need to change one more base unit - they have sent one that was too big. But we are on the way :)

This is today's work. The kitchen is really taking shape. There are problems with the location of the sockets for the dishwasher and washer/drier .. as well as the pipes .. all protrude too far. Another problem to solve tomorrow.
