Chris's House in Longridge

These are the remaining comics on the side of the stairs - Comet, Eagle and Rover - plus two issues of the Enid Blyton magazine.

On the other side of the kitchen in my mother's little momento - it says "Dorothy's Kitchen.

On the wall between the kitchen and study is a small Chinese paining of my name in .. Chinese - brought by my friend Rose in Hong Kong. There is a wooden spatula on the kitchen wall - a 'new kitchen' present from Monika :)

This is a wider view of the fireplace and the comics and painting. I intend to build a bookcase in the alcove where John Lennon currently is.

On the other side of the fire in the alcove are copies of the Beano and Dandy.

This is a close up of the John Lennon issue of Rolling Stone - my son Tom bought it for me several years ago.

This is the fireplace side .. the fire is wonderful. The original painting is of St Johns Church in Lytham where my parents were married and are buried and the Windmill opposite the church. The Rolling Stone issues with John Lennon on it is in the alcove on the right.

In the other corner of the front wall and alcove next to the fireplace I have put the two larger comics - the Beezer and the Topper.

On the other side of the door is the Album cover of the live recording of Milt Jackson at the Museum of Modern Art - a concert I attended when in New Jersey in August 1965.

By the front door I have a replica poster of the August 1965 Beatles concert at Shea Stadium in New Jersey - when I was there as a student.

I have put all my 1950's comics back on the walls. Here are the first 3 copies of the Tiger comic with Roy of the Rovers .. plus copies of the Lion, Hotspur, Adventure and Wizard.

This is the view from the study to the front door. The curtain at the door and the windows will have to be replaced to complement any new furniture.

This is the view from the stairs. The furnitire and the rugs will be changed - not sure when yet.

This is a view from the front door. The TV on the table is a temporary thing - I want a flat screen TV in the alcove there.

This is a view towards the study and kitchen now that the carpets are down.

This is the study once I had moved the furniture and computer/printer/speakers back in place.

Here is finished study - with a mark on the left near the door. I will try to clean it but it will be covered anyway. It is the same with a patch in the far right corner under the desk.

Here are joe's tools - after he had tidied up the area under the breakfast bar.

Joe came round to finish the carpet fitting tonight. Here he is starting to lay the conservatory/study area.

Here is a view towards the front door with the existing rugs in place and some of the furniture. There are are some large 'joins' in the carpets but most will be covered by new larger rugs. The room feels warmer already :)

This is the entry to the kitchen. There is still work to complete in the study and one or two small areas using the remaining pieces.
